Very easy.. you can see have the divider after insert the coin.. the divider function to make sure the real coin only can rolling.. if don't understands can see how coin sorting works... it's same function

Can you use a safety pin as a needle?

It's a good mechanism , but unfortunately can't prevent the "bag guys" of inserting anything the same size inside it and "make their own happiness".The mech needs more ways to distinguish the right coin from anything else . I would sugest more levels of security such as a magnet which could separate the metal ones from , lets say , a wood one. It's just a tip for those who pretend improve this sistem .

You are ever so gently introducing the quarter to the slot. Slam that quarter in there like people do in a real coin mech. I guarantee if you push a nickel fast enough it will wind up in your accepted coin box. Anywho nice try on working out a problem with a simple solution.

You are just using a smaller solar cell as a sensor. so there is a sensor on it... it's used to detect changes in the sun's position and power the motor to rotate. (aka a sensor) it's also more efficient to rotate on a horizontal axis than verticle. set it up to follow the sun rather than compass it. if that makes sense. One other problem with verticle rotation is during peak sun hours this thing will have a not so good angle that will impede the best part of the day for solar panels. making it as useful as that small solar cell used as a light sensor. which is not utilising its fullest potential. which is ironic as the whole point of a solar tracker is to improve the amount of power harvested. utilizing the solar panel to the fullest.

The point ist crooked, ju have to place the diaphragm in the way in wich it kann read the pointvibrations horizontal, nicht vertical.

Clever idea...tilting the runway so that the coins experience a torque due to gravity as it travels the path to the "quarter" hole. What people don't realize is it depends on the moment of inertia, so a quarter-sized coin is not guaranteed to make it across by virtue of being the same size alone. Mass, density, etc. must also match. Very creative, and don't listen to any of these morons who naysay without even understanding the actual physics behind the matter. Keep up the good work!

Simply buy a mechanical coin mech off e -bay for £20 , the coin mech has a switch that is triggered by the coin , the switch can be wired to latch a relay , a simple circuit could then be made to actuate the kickout mech for your vend. I am building a cigarette vendor that kicks a cig out for 50p! Great fun...
